A little over 20 years ago …. Mr Bo (Carlsson) and Lars (Mellqvist) made plans for the future. It was time for a new band – after many, long miles and lots of gigs with their previous ones. That was when Mr Bo & The Voodooers was created. Drummer Roger Mörck and organist Bo Hansson were recruited and gigs were booked. The band basically immediately created their own profile with their soul-soaked and bluesy style. Since then, they have played in all possible contexts on many of the best stages. There have been big festivals, clubs, radio recordings and album releases. Mr Bo is one of the country’s real blues profiles and has received Jan Rosenqvist’s memorial prize, which is awarded by the Swedish Blues association, as well as the prestigious prizes at the blues festivals in Mönsterås and Åmål. Bo Hansson on hammond organ is a real fiddler who always gets the audience with him. He has played in virtually all types of musical contexts since the 70’s, with TV jobs and recordings. He has received Åmål’s blues party Blues Award. On bass we have Lars Mellqvist. A journey within Swedish blues. Has received Åmål’s blues party Award and played with a large number of Swedish and international artists. Has played with Mr Bo since the 1980s. Has been awarded Åmål’s blues party Blues Award. Roger Mörck on drums has a packed CV and is in demand for his safe and driving drumming.
