Tag en stor spand med upoleret Mississippi juke joint boogie og bland den med en anden spand af afslappet blues, tilføj en tekop af Swamp pop, en spiseskefuld Hillbilly og et pund af vanærende ekstatisk gospel, så får du Kokomo Kings. Dette er primitiv, lørdags aften musik der spiller op til dans.

Bandet er et samarbejde mellem nogle af Sveriges og Danmarks absolutte topspillere.
Efter mange års opvarmning til en lang liste med internationale blues-kunstnere som James Harman, Mud Morganfield, Big Jack Johnson, Lazy Lester, Louisiana Red, John Primer, Big Joe Louis, Keith Dunn, Rusty Zinn og så videre, og mange andre, besluttede de sig for at starte et nyt band og lave deres egne ting. De mødtes i foråret 2012 for at indspille en 45 vinyl-singlen “Artificial Natural”, mange sagde, at det var en af ​​de bedste lydoptagelser i årevis!

I oktober 2013 udgav de albummet »Artificial Natural« i fuld længde, den fik store ros.
Mange Blues- og Rock´n Roll fans hævdede, at det var første gang i mange år, at de lyttede til et bluesalbum fra den første sang til den sidste, og bare elskede hvert sekund af det!
I oktober 2015 udgav det italienske pladeselskab “Turkish Records” deres nye sang “The River Turned to Steam” på vinyl.

I 2016 besluttede Harmonika-Sam sig for at stoppe, i stedet sluttede Martin Abrahamsson sig til bandet på vokal og guitar.

The Kokomo Kings består i dag af bassisten, guitaristen, sangskriveren og produceren Magnus Lanshammar, trommeslageren Daniel Winerø, sangeren og guitaristen Martin Abrahamsson samt bandets danske element – den prisvindende guitarist Ronni Auðar-Boysen

I foråret 2017 udgav rytme bomb records deres 2. album “too good to stay away from”.

Ameripolitan Music Awards i Memphis nominerede Kokomo-kongerne til bedste rockabilly-band 2018, og bandet vandt prisen “årets band” 2018 fra blues lounge-radioprogrammet i U.K.

I sommeren 2019 udgav rhythm bomb records deres tredje album “fighting fire with gasoline”.

Siden starten har de optrådt på klubber og festivaler i Sverige, Danmark, Storbritannien, Tyskland, Holland, Belgien, Finland, Norge, Frankrig, Østrig ,Schweiz, Tjekkiet og Spanien.

Take a big bucket of unpolished Mississippi juke joint boogie and blend it with another bucket of laid back down home blues. Add a teacup of swamp pop, a tablespoon of hillbilly and a pound of profane, ecstatic gospel and you´ll have the Kokomo Kings. This ain´t Nothing but primitive, groovy Saturday-night music made for dancing.

The band is a collaboration of some of Swedens and Denmarks absolute top players. After years of backing a long list of international blues artists like James Harman, Mud Morganfield, Big Jack Johnson, Lazy Lester, Louisiana Red, John Primer, Big Joe Louis, Keith Dunn, Rusty Zinn and so on, and playing with a number of Scandinavian bands like The Instigators, The Domestic Bumblebees, Paul & The Blue Delivery, Peter Nande Band and many others, they decided to start a new band and do their own thing. They got together in the spring of 2012 to record the debut 45rpm vinyl-single “Artificial Natural”. It took of good, and many said it was among the best sounding recording for years!

In October 2013 they released the full length album “Artificial Natural” that received great rewievs. Many Blues- and Rock´n´Roll fans claimed that it was the first time for many years that they listened to a blues album from the first song to the last, and just loved every second of it!

In October 2015 the italian record Company “Turkish Records” released  their new fishing-song “The River Turned to Steam” on vinyl.

In 2016 harmonica sam decided to cut down on music. instead martin abrahamsson joined the band on vocals and guitar.

In the spring of 2017 rhythm bomb records released their 2nd album “too good to stay away from”.

The Ameripolitan Music Awards in Memphis nominated the Kokomo kings to best rockabilly band 2018, and the band won the “band of the year” 2018 award from the blues lounge radio show in the u.k.

in the summer of 2019 rhythm bomb records released their third album “fighting fire with gasoline”.

Since the start, they´ve performed at clubs and festivals in Sweden, Denmark, united kingdom, germany, the netherlands, belgium, Finland, Norway, france, austria, switzerland, the czech republic and Spain.
