🇬🇧 Blues Heaven 1st & 2nd November in Arena Nord, Frederikshavn, Denmark
(This press release can be downloaded here...)
For the 14th year, Denmark’s largest and multi-award-winning blues/rock/soul/gospel-festival, Blues Heaven, will deliver a high caliber music program with a range of styles from several Blues Music Award-winning artists.
There are few artists whose names are synonymous with one instrument and how it's played in service to an entire genre. 25 years into his recording career guitar-hero Kenny Wayne Shepherd continues to create genre-defining blues-infused rock’n'roll. Shepherd has sold millions of albums, received 5 GRAMMY® nominations, 2 Billboard Music Awards, as well as a pair of Orville H. Gibson awards, the Blues Foundation's Keeping The Blues Alive Award and 2 Blues Music Awards. He's had 7 #1 blues albums and a string of #1 mainstream rock singles. The Louisiana born axeman was just 16 when he established himself as an immensely popular recording artist, a consistently in-demand live act and an influential force in a worldwide resurgence of interest in the blues. Shepherd married Hannah Gibson, the oldest daughter of actor Mel Gibson in 2006. The couple have 5 children, 3 daughters, and 2 sons.
The Blues Music Awards (BMA) ceremony in Memphis, TN in May 2019, is often described as being the blues and soul mecca of the world and there is no doubt that the most prestigious and sought-after award is the ‘Best Album of The Year’ Award. This year festival will be presenting 4 of the 5 nominated artists at this year’s event in Arena Nord.

This vocal power-house is currently nominated in 4 BMA categories, with her song ‘Ain’t Got Time for Hate’ being nominated for ‘Song of The Year’.
Joe Louis Walker - with 30 record releases and countless prestigious festival performances, Joe Louis Walker holds an international reputation as one of the blues’ most prolific and talented stars.
